Born in 1981, son of musician parents, Quentin Paquignon starts at 8 years old his musical career with saxophone teacher Didier Foucher (French Air Force Orchestra Soloist). Few years later, Quentin Paquignon will be rewarded by:

  • First Prize of Saxophone (class of saxophone master: Georges Porte, French Republican Gard Orchestras Soloist)
  • Unanimous First Prize of Music Chamber from the Music, Dance and Drama National School of Créteil (FR) 
  • First Prize of Saxophone Musical Contest of Picardie (FR) 
  • First Prize of Léopold Bellan Music Chamber Contest, Paris (FR).

Quentin Paquignon continues his musical journey as saxophone soloist joining different symphonic, military and jazz big band orchestras such as: Orsay Symphonic Orchestra (FR), Symphonic Orchestra of Massy Opera House (FR), Military Firemen Orchestra of Paris (FR), Big Band Connexion, Blue Big Band, Govix Big Band, Bouglione Circus...

In 2001, Quentin Paquignon tours US and Caribbean Islands with Jeff Joseph Gramacks New Generation, while perfecting his improvisation skills with master Louis Sclavis.

Since 2005 in Shanghai, Quentin Paquignon’s musical versatility brought him to play with diverse bands and artists such as: JZ All Stars Big Band, Zhou BingQian Orchestra, Eric Lee, Erik Truffaz Quartet, DJ Ben Huang, DJ Gilles Peterson, DJ FKJ, DJ Maestro (Blue Note Records)… Paquignon performed on the most prestigious China stages : JZ Club Shanghai, Cotton Club Shanghai, House of Blues and Jazz (SH), Shanghai JZ Music Festival, Shanghai Oriental Center, Shanghai Mao Live House, Shanghai Grand Theatre, Shanghai Culture Square Theatre,  Hong Kong Theatre, Bar Rouge Shanghai, Unïco Shanghai, Shanghai Myth Festival, Shanghai eMidi Music Festival, Jianghu Music Festival…

Reconnecting with his organizational skills developed in France for concert organization and music festival management, Quentin Paquignon co-organizes Together Day Shanghai - a 2008 Sichuan Earthquake fundraising concert- before being in charge of the 2008 JZ Music Festival stage management.

Insatiable cultural & artistic entrepreneur, Quentin Paquignon founded:

Benjamin L'Hôtellier starts his professional career in 2000 as drummer and quickly becomes involved in the recording studio environment.

Over the last twelve years, he has worked in France and China in various recording studios and audio post production facilities as re-recording mixer, scoring mixer and sound designer on world famous TV shows, feature films, video games, documentaries and albums.

Benjamin L'Hôtellier also regularly participates in multiple projects as sideman and sound engineer for live music recording and mixing.

In December 2009, he cofounded KER SOUND Studios in Shanghai with film music composer Greg Yu. 

L’Hôtellier’s work covers the animated feature film "ZhengHe-1405”, the awarded US feature film "Route 30”, several sino-european & sino-US co-productions, 100+ episodes of TV series such as "The Amazing Race", "MasterChef” and “SuperNanny” as re-recording mixer, live music recording for French TV stations, and numerous TV commercials for which he has been awarded.

In 2016, Benjamin L'Hôtellier and Quentin Paquignon co-founded imrsv records™,  UK record label specialized in immersive music recording productions.
